Can
you find any other sites with the same information?
If not, then the information may not be correct.
Does
the site present all sides of an issue? Is it biased? If there
is a bias, the author is writing emotionally, and the information may not be
accurate. A reliable site will list all sides to an issue or a story.
Are
sources listed that give more information? Just like print material,
there should be a bibliography. You should be able to check the sources
used by the author of the website so that the material can be checked for
accuracy.
Is
copyright information available? There should be a date listed
somewhere. If there is no copyright date, then look for a date when the
site was created or updated. If the information needs to be current,
look for a recent date. For example, don't use information on medical
advances from a site that is too old.
