Each Month, Pleasant Valley Service-Learning hosts an event that gives freshman and sophomore students opportunities to earn service time.  These events allow students to try various community service projects.  Students are provided school transportation, when necessary.  Our goal is to give freshmen and sophomores not only a variety of community service options, but enables students with transportation issues opportunities they may not have had.  Take a look at pictures, on the picture link, of some past events.

As the Service-Learning Coordinator, I must tell you how fulfilling these events have been.  Not only have I enjoyed them myself, but I have had the opportunity to be in the suburban or on the bus with the students before and after the events. The satisfaction of a job well done and the true feelings of the students surface after the event.  I get to hear and see the immediate results that giving has on these students.  It doesn't always last long, but the joy of giving is apparent.
