Have you ever thought about Prim's point of view in The Hunger Games? Well, the Creative Expressions Club has! Check out their writing below!

Hello. My name is Prim. I live in a country called Panem. There are twelve districts. There used to be thirteen though. A war broke out and, as a consequence, District Thirteen was bombed and was no more. Now, to make sure that this never happened again, the government created the Hunger Games. Each district has to send one boy and girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen. The last one standing wins.

I just turned twelve, and I regret it. Today is the drawing for the Hunger Games. There's a chance that I might get picked. I'm really scared. The only people in my family are my older sister Katniss and my mother. Katniss is the food gatherer for the family; she hunts and gathers even though it is illegal. If it wasn't for her, I'd be dead by now.

Right before the drawing, Katniss tells me, "Don't be scared. It's your first time. They won't pick you."

And I believe her. Why wouldn't I? It's not her fault though. The chances of me getting chosen are slim. That's why, when Effie screams, "Primrose Everdeen!" I want to fall to my knees and cry. The crowd goes blurry and I fight the urge to scream, "No! No!" I try to be strong like my sister, but I don't feel strong.

And that's when I hear it. The "No!" I want to shout comes from Katniss instead. Of course. Again, I want to scream "No!" To tell her that she can't be angry and that I'll be okay. But that will never be.

"I volunteer." Her words echo in my mind, stopping at a wall of comprehension. Her words travel no farther because I can't, I don't want, to understand...
