The following information is provided to you in order to familiarize you and your child with some basic safety and operational procedures established at Riverdale Heights Elementary School.

SCHOOL HOURS:

Children enter the building 8:00 a.m.

School in session 8:35 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL:

From 8:00 a.m. to 8:20 children will wait in the cafeteria until dismissed.

*LUNCH PROGRAM:

Breakfast is available every morning for ($1.25 per day)

Hot Lunch is available in the cafeteria each day ($1.85 per day)

Milk is also available every day to purchase ($.40 per day)

Lunches can be paid for by sending a check, made payable to “Pleasant Valley Community School District or cash to school with your child. If you have any questions about the food service program, please contact Lisa Nolting at 332-5550.

OFFICE HOURS: School Year: 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

EARLY DISMISSAL/STUDENT PICK UP:

All students must be signed in and out in the office. Students will only be released to adults, and only those indicated on emergency cards or by personal letter.

Dismissal Schedule: Walkers, Bus Riders, Children who are picked up by parents.

All students are dismissed through the front doors only.

ABSENCES:

Parents are to notify the school in the event a child is to be absent or late. Please call the absence line at

332-0616 to report an absence. This procedure ensures the safety of your child.

RIVERDALE HEIGHTS PTA:

Riverdale Heights has a very active PTA, which meets on a monthly basis. Parents are encouraged to attend and take an active part in the PTA. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of month in the Media Center and babysitting is provided. The president is Rachel Chamberlain (563-332-4156).
