BOARD OF EDUCATION, SPECIAL MEETING, BELMONT ADMINISTRATION OFFICE

Wednesday, June 29, 2011  – 12:00 NOON C.D.S.T.

Special meeting was called to order at 12:00 Noon by President Dayman.

MEMBERS PRESENT:   Archer, Bullock, Dayman, Dohmen (telephonically), Paulsen.  Absent:  Huegel and Witters.

Also Present:  Jim Spelhaug, Mike Clingingsmith, Christine Harvey, Brian Strusz, Jen, Ed, Aubrey, and Macy Vance.

EXECUTIVE SESSION:  Motion by Paulsen, second by Archer that the Board hold a closed session as provided in section 21.5(1)(i) of the open meetings law to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose performance is being considered to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation, as that individual has requested a closed session.  Roll call vote – Ayes – Paulsen, Archer, Bullock, Dayman, Dohmen.  Nays – none.  Motion carried.

AGENDA APPROVED:  Motion by Bullock, second by Paulsen to approve the agenda as presented.  All ayes.  Motion carried.

EXECUTIVE SESSION – PERSONNEL:  The board met in executive session for personnel from 12:04 – 12:10 p.m.

APPROVAL OF RIVERDALE HEIGHTS PRINCIPAL:  Jennifer Vance has been a member of the Pleasant Valley faculty since 2003 when she was a teacher at Pleasant Valley Junior High in the areas of physical education, at-risk math, and 8^th grade life skills until 2009.  She has served as Elementary Dean of Students at Pleasant View and Riverdale Heights since 2009.

Motion by Archer, second by Bullock that the Board appoint Jennifer Vance as the Riverdale Heights Principal for the 2011-2012 school year.  Roll call vote.  Ayes – Archer, Bullock, Dayman, Dohmen, Paulsen.  Nays – none.  Motion carried.
